Bespoke kitchen Amsterdam – Green Smoke Farrow & Ball

Custom made kitchens are the signature dish or the eyecatcher  of the house. This beautiful bespoke kitchen in shaker style is no exception. Last year we finished a special kitchen project in a special green color from Farrow & Ball. Together with the gorgeous steel glass doors in the back it makes the perfect combination in a beautiful interior setting connected to the garden.

Design process for custom made kitchens

The bespoke kitchens are always part of a total project that starts with a good design process and good project coördination. As there was a full rebuilding in the nice Amsterdam Zuid house all elements had to be in perfect harmony. As the design choices, the final outcome and the exact light influence are unknown upfront we always make multiple 3D designs. They are nice and realistic designs. In this case we have made many different lay-outs of the bespoke kitchen.

The final design that came together had a kitchen island bar area that faces the kitchen and the glass doors to the garden. A nice starting point. The backwall is grotesque, functional and integrates cabinetry and kitchen characteristics. In this family the side by side fridge was a must so the fridge is the only element that was not built in. Although there are many closed cabinets which is great for storage the open part for the sink with the wooden shelves in natural oak colors give a breezy open feel to the kitchen. This is of course enhance by the nice tiles as backwall to the kitchen.

Kitchen island with seating areas

The kitchen island integrates a nice Bora downdraft cooking plate. This was a blessing for the design as we did not need to worry about the integration of a range hood, so in this way the ceiling was clean and also no need to investigate cooking against the backwall.

Farrow & Ball Green Smoke

What makes this kitchen the big succes is the choice of the colors. The main color chosen is green smoke from Farrow and Ball. It gives the great natural outlook that combines well with the outside space. Also it is a very natural color that combines great with other natural elements like the floor, black steel and the black pipe. The space is combined with the living room, so also from the living room you can see the kitchen. The natural color and typical panelled cabinetryin the kitchen give a fluent outlook throughout the total living space.

Functionality and smart solutions for bespoke kitchens

Another great feature of this kitchen is its functionality. Behind the closed doors there are many smart solutions. The inside of the pantry in this customised kitchen has storage solutions in the doors. Also there are many smart drawer systems integrated to the custom made kitchen. Of course the ladder and railing are used to access the upper cabinets of the kitchen. On the right side there was space for a tall but narrow cabinet as a cargo pull out unit.

Silestone countertop

The countertop of this shaker kitchen is made in composite from Sileston in the color Lagoon. It is more or less a more neutral color to balance out the natural elements. The the last parts of dressing the kitchen are the accesoires of the house itself, this is the part where interior design meets kitchen design. So take a look at the nice hanging lamps and bar stools in the kitchen. They give a more vintage touch to the whole interior.
