Classical kitchens and cabinets work well if well designed. Our client contracted MyHouse Amsterdam after they bought their beautiful old house near the famous Amsterdam Vondelpark. Like so many apartments the house was sold turn key. So it was ready to move in as they said.

There was a kitchen and everything worked well. So true…but it was just not pretty and did not give the right justice to the apartment outlook and architecture of the nice apartment.

Therefore our clients contacted MyHouse to design together with them a custom made kitchen and a wall filling bookcase.

Steel doors - Modern wardrobe – Amsterdam

Modern style cabinets combined with steel doors. Just outside the old center of Amsterdam a design request came to us to combine a steel construction, a steel door with modern sprayed wardrobes. The house we had to work in is older and has a very classic outlook. The place has been designed with natural and modern materials to keep a clean outlook and design. Anyway it was a very nice interior project in Amsterdam. 

Project coördination - kitchen interior renovation Amsterdam

Renovation projects in Amsterdam combined with interior building and kitchen design in Amsterdam. Always exciting but very challenging. When your client is an expat and lives abroad and communication goes by facetime this adds an extra layer to the process. Our client has bought a nice old house in a street in Amsterdam with an architectural style from the early thirties from the last century. Their wish was to do a good rebuilding to mordernise the house and to design a modern interior that will not take away the atmosphere in the house.

The clients have asked us to coordinate the rebuilding in Amsterdam and design their interior to make and design a TV cabinet with fireplace, wardrobes, walking cabinets and a fully custom made kitchen. They needed to be modern, colourful and practical but in the same time timeless, trendy and creative space. Combined designs are difficult in a compact space as the interaction between the spaces and rooms in the house play a role. Where do you start?

How to do an efficient rebuilding in Amsterdam? The main thing is to create value by combining different aspects. Last fall MyHouse Amsterdam did a nice interior project in Amsterdam center close to the Leidseplein. The main object was to create an extra room by not destroying the visual feeling of space in the old apartment. In a very classical and long slanted main living of the house we have designed and created a room divider with open spaces on the kitchen side and closed wardrobe cabinets on the other side. In Dutch this is called “Kamer Ensuite”. By closing of the sliding doors the back side of the living room can be used as a bedroom when guests are visiting this nice expat family in Amsterdam.
